Frances Tiafoe still has some big things he wants to achieve in his tennis career.

Tiafoe had a disappointing 2025 season, with the American even falling outside the top 30 at the start of this year.

In a bid to make improvements to his game, Tiafoe made changes to his coaching team in the off-season and brought in Mark Kovacs.

After Tiafoe lost to Alex de Minaur at the Australian Open, he has revealed if he still enjoys playing tennis and stated the remaining goals he has for his career.

After beating Hijikata in straight sets, Tiafoe spoke to media in the mixed zone and was asked about how his outlook has changed at this stage in his career.

In his response, Tiafoe revealed that he still enjoys playing tennis, with the 28-year-old stating that he still hopes to win a Grand Slam title, qualify for the ATP Finals and break into the top five of the rankings.

“I got in the top 100 when I was 18, I’ve played all the Slams about 10/11 times and now getting to the backend of my career I’m just trying to see you know what I can squeeze out the lemon,” said Tiafoe.

“I want to see if I have a chance at the big one, I want to see if I can you know, play Turin, I want to see if I can be in the top 10, top five, whatever the case may be and push the big guys.

“I mean I’ve done it, I’ve played it, I’ve seen it, but it also is not easy getting up and doing it and doing it year after year, the same tournaments. It’s not easy. But also, you know, at the same time a ton of gratitude, I don’t know what else I would be doing. I love the game of tennis. I still love it.

“Right now I just kind of want to get back to doing it the right way and competing and enjoying nights like tonight. Like playing, whether it’s a 250 or 1000, coming out and enjoying it and people who really enjoy still watching me play. So, that’s kind of what it’s about and doing it the right way.”

Tiafoe’s best results at Grand Slams have come at the US Open, as he has twice reached the semifinals in his career.

While he has never qualified for the ATP Finals before, Tiafoe has been ranked inside the top 10 of the rankings before.

When did Frances Tiafoe last win an ATP title?

Tiafoe now progresses to the second round of the Delray Beach Open, as he looks to win his first ATP title since 2023.

The current world number 28 has won three singles titles in his career, including his first in Delray Beach in 2018.

While he has only won three titles, Tiafoe has achieved the impressive feat of winning an ATP tournament on every surface.

The last of those three titles came on the grass of Stuttgart in 2023, and now Tiafoe will bid to win his fourth career title.

Tiafoe will hope that his title drought comes to an end in Delray Beach, as he awaits his second round opponent, which will be either Aleksandar Kovacevic or Zachary Svajda.
