The US Open might be over, but for the players, the year is far from over, with a number of big tournaments still to come.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will likely take a break after their US Open exploits, with Alcaraz praising Sinner after beating him in yet another final.
For others, however, it’s a chance to improve their ranking a few more times before the season finally dwindles to a halt.
Matteo Berrettini has endured yet another rotten year on the injury front, but it would appear that he’s finally in a position to return to the tour.
Berrettini withdrew from the US Open last month, but now it would appear that he’s ready to get back on a tennis court in the near future.

Matteo Berrettini confirms which tournament he will return at
The Italian player reached the Wimbledon final in 2021, which he lost in four sets to Novak Djokovic.
Berrettini hasn’t actually played since this year’s Wimbledon and has won 13 and lost 11 matches that he’s played in 2025.
Now, Berrettini has confirmed that he will be playing at the ATP 250 event in Hangzhou which gets underway next week in China.
He posted on Instagram a series of clips of him being put through his paces, with the caption: “Final prep! See you in Hangzhou.”
Who won the Hangzhou Open in 2024
Experienced Croatian player Marin Cilic managed to get over the line and claim the trophy at last year’s event.
He overcame the sixth seed Zhang Zhizhen to lift the title, with number one seed Holger Rune being beaten in the last 16.
Berrettini will be hoping to string a few injury-free matches together and if he can do that, who knows how far he can go at the event.
The world number 52 will have no real expectations after a few months on the sidelines and merely being able to finish a match or two would represent progress.
Three top players have entered the event this year, with Andrey Rublev, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Bublik all in action in China.
