Emma Raducanu won all three of her matches at the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Finals as Great Britain were knocked out in the semi-finals.

Raducanu endured another complicated year on the WTA Tour, suffering with various injuries, in between some impressive results.

The 22-year-old had been out of action for a number of weeks after Raducanu was injured at the Korea Open.

The injury came during a tough period of the season for the Brit, with Raducanu losing in the first round of the US Open, a disappointing result for the world number 58.

She returned to fitness at this year’s Billie Jean King Cup, looking to build some momentum ahead of her 2025 season.

Raducanu played the opening singles match in all three of Great Britain’s Billie Jean King Cup ties, getting her team off to the perfect start against Germany, Canada, and Slovakia.

Despite Raducanu’s win over Viktoria Hruncakova, Great Britain fell 2-1 to Slovakia, as they were knocked out of the tournament at the semi-final stage.

A tough exit for the team, but a strong week personally for Raducanu that has changed her mindset ahead of 2025.

Emma Raducanu says she ‘doesn’t really need’ time off ahead of 2025 season

After such a positive week in Malaga, Raducanu would love to get back on the court as soon as possible.

The off-season has come at an unfortunate time for the Brit, as she told Sky Sports following Great Britain’s exit at the Billie Jean King Cup.

“I think traditionally you’d probably have a bit of a break and take a holiday or something,” she said.

“But I feel like I have had four or five weeks off tennis.

“I don’t really need any more time off.”

Instead, the 22-year-old is looking forward to getting back into action, as she looks to build upon a strong showing in Spain.

“If anything, I’m excited and just itching to get on the practice court, and of course, seeing some of my performances this week it just incentivizes me to do more work,” she said.

Raducanu made further headlines this week in Malaga, after what she claimed the rest of the WTA Tour think about her.

“I know I’m a dangerous player,” she said.

“I know no-one wants to pull my name in the draw.

“I take pride in that, and I’m looking forward to hopefully staying on court longer next year.”

What has Emma Raducanu achieved since winning the 2021 US Open?

Raducanu achieved the impossible in 2021, as she won the US Open as a qualifier, without dropping a single set.

Dubbed ‘The Fairy Tale of New York’, Raducanu’s run was nothing short of spectacular and had British tennis fans in a frenzy as they predicted big things for her future.

Since then, things haven’t gone quite to plan for Raducanu, who has suffered several injuries, costing her the opportunity to build any momentum.

There have however, been a few strong showings for the 22-year-old, who could yet still have some big titles in her future.

Emma Raducanu’s best performances since the 2021 US Open

Whilst the Brit has failed to win another title, or reach a final since her US Open victory, it’s not fair to say that she hasn’t impressed at times over the past few years.

Defeats to Iga Swiatek in the latter stages of tournaments aren’t bad results by any means, and it looks as if her form in 2024 is a steep improvement from the year prior.

It remains to be seen whether Raducanu will ever take home another Grand Slam title, but if she can continue the form she showed at the Billie Jean King Cup, she may well do so.
