Emma Raducanu is now focusing solely on singles at Queen’s after exiting the doubles competition.

The WTA Tour is excited to welcome the Queen’s Club Championships back to the circuit for the first time in 52 years.

The British players in particular are thrilled to be back on home soil and playing on grass, especially Raducanu and Katie Boulter.

The British number one and two teamed up for the first time to go for glory in doubles, but they fell short of success after losing their second round match.

Does Emma Raducanu want to play doubles with Katie Boulter again?

Emma Raducanu had played just one doubles match on the WTA Tour before playing with Boulter at Queen’s.

That took place at the 2022 Washington Open alongside Clara Tauson and the pair suffered a 4-6, 1-6 defeat.

Raducanu expressed the nervousness she felt before taking to the court with Boulter, but they soon subsided as they won their opening match 6-4, 6-2 and shared plenty of laughs and smiles along the way.

Their next match came against Erin Routliffe and Lyudmyla Kichenok, the top seeded team at the Queen’s. They showed why they have that title by defeating Raducanu and Boulter 6-2, 7-5.

After their campaign came to an end, Raducanu expressed her desire to play doubles with Boulter again and explained what she gained from their partnership.

“Katie made me feel really comfortable out there over the two matches and I hope we can team up again soon,” the 2021 US Open champion said.

“Given the quick turnaround from clay to grass, it’s great to get some extra matchplay on grass. The atmosphere again was unreal.”

Katie Boulter says how it felt playing doubles with Emma Raducanu

Before Queen’s, Boulter last played doubles at April’s Madrid Open alongside Daria Kasatkina.

The 28-year-old had a task of helping her inexperienced partner in Raducanu on court, but she helped her compatriot win the first doubles match of her career.

She mentioned the crowd for their unwavering support during their matches and credited her partner for the level of tennis she displayed.

“Me and Emma played some very good tennis over these two doubles matches and our level was really high,” Boulter said.

“The support from the crowd was immense as well, and we’re really grateful that so many people came out to support us.”
