Emma Navarro remained optimistic after losing her Wimbledon quarter-final.

The American reached the last eight of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career after recording a comprehensive victory over Coco Gauff in the last 16.

Navarro has enjoyed a stellar year in which she won her first title and reached a career-high ranking of 17.

Currently the World number 19, she suffered defeat to Jasmine Paolini in the Wimbledon quarter-finals, but the 23-year-old is certainly heading in the right direction.

Navarro was feeling confident ahead of her last eight clash at the All-England Club with Jasmine Paolini.

She had beaten the Italian three times in the past, but the 28-year-old transformed her game to record a 6-2, 6-1 win in just 58 minutes.

Despite the crushing loss, Navarro is very excited for the future after achieving her best result at a major so far.

“I have played the best tennis I have ever played in my life at this tournament and it’s really exciting to know I have that level inside of me,” she said during her post match press conference.

“I know I will keep improving on it and I know this isn’t the last time I am going to be in the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam and I’m going to be back. Disappointed today but big picture wise I’m excited to keep improving.”

What are Emma Navarro’s Grand Slam results in 2024?

Navarro’s best result at a Grand Slam came at Wimbledon where she reached the quarter-finals, but she built up to that result throughout the season.

She began the Grand Slam season by reaching the Australian Open third round as the 27th seed, where she was beaten by Dayana Yastremska.

At Roland Garros, Navarro was the 22nd seed and she defeated Madison Keys on the way to reaching the fourth round in Paris for the first time.

Navarro will return to Paris as part of the USA’s Olympic team this month before transitioning back to the hard courts in the run-up to the US Open, where she will hope to make a big impact.
