Elena Rybakina will have a new coach by the time the 2025 season is due to commence.

The World number five has been without a coach since she split with Stefano Vukov on the eve of the US Open.

They worked together for five years before the surprising announcement, and during that time she shocked the world by winning the 2022 Wimbledon title.

Rybakina will end her 2024 campaign at the WTA Finals and once that tournament concludes, Rybakina will begin with a coach who as a player claimed glory at the All-England Club 21 years before she did.

Who will be Elena Rybakina’s new coach?

According to journalist Reem Abulleil of the National news, Arab News and Eurosport, Elena Rybakina’s new coach will be Goran Ivanišević.

The reporter also said they will begin their partnership during the offseason, after the WTA Finals have have come to an end.

Ivanišević has been without a job since his five-year stint coaching Novak Djokovic came to an end in March 2024.

Now he is set to be back on tour and for the first time since becoming a coach in 2013, he will be issuing guidance to a player on the WTA Tour.

Who has Goran Ivanesevic previously coached?

During Ivanišević’s five years coaching Djokovic, the Serbian claimed nine Grand Slams and in the process became the male player with the most number of majors in history.

Prior to his successful partnership with Djokovic, the 2001 Wimbledon winner had success coaching Marin Cilic. He worked with the player from 2013 to 2016 and in 2014, Cilic defeated Kei Nishikori to win the US Open.

Ivanišević also worked with Tomas Berdych, but their partnership lasted less than a year from August 2016 to June 2017.

Another short-term partnership came with former Wimbledon runner-up Milos Raonic, who Ivanišević worked with from 2018 to 2019.

Now the Croatian will be watching the WTA Finals very closely as Rybakina looks to win the season-ending title for the first time.
