Elena Rybakina has released a message on social media for the first time since winning the Australian Open.

Rybakina beat Aryna Sabalenka in the Australian Open final, enabling her to lift the second Grand Slam title of her career.

This has come over three years after her maiden major win, with Rybakina now both a Wimbledon and Australian Open champion.

As a result, Rybakina has risen up the WTA rankings and she has now posted her first message on social media to celebrate her second Grand Slam win.

After beating world number one Sabalenka, 6-4 4-6 6-4, there was a lot of talk about Rybakina’s relatively muted celebration.

Rybakina has now had a couple of days to reflect on her Australian Open win, which she has celebrated in a post on Instagram.

In this social media post, Rybakina thanked those who had helped her along the way to her Australian Open title victory.

She wrote, “Thank you @australianopen for the love, the energy and the unforgettable memories. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way — beyond grateful for this moment.

Rybakina also added a quote, “‘Dreams don’t melt under pressure’.”

Where is Elena Rybakina playing next?

Rybakina, who is now back as the world number three, decided to withdraw from the Abu Dhabi Open before winning the Australian Open, but it is not expected to be long before she steps on the match court again.

The Kazakhstani is scheduled to have one week away from the WTA Tour before she competes in the Middle East.

Who will be ranked higher by the end of 2026 – Elena Rybakina or Aryna Sabalenka?

This will see Rybakina compete at two WTA 1000 tournaments that she has never won before in Doha and Dubai.

Rybakina’s best result at these two tournaments came in 2024, when she lost in the final of the Qatar Open.

The 26-year-old will no doubt be one of the favorites to win the Doha and Dubai titles this year, especially as Rybakina has only lost one of her last 21 matches.
