Elena Rybakina clinched her second Stuttgart Open title and 13th WTA crown overall after defeating Karolina Muchova in the final.

The Kazakh star, placed second in the WTA rankings, beat Muchova in straight sets, winning 7-5, 6-1.

Rybakina has now secured two titles in 2026, following her Australian Open triumph earlier this year, which marked her second Grand Slam victory.

Elena Rybakina wins five or more WTA titles on multiple surfaces

Rybakina is now just the fourth active player on the WTA Tour to win five or more titles on multiple surfaces.

The only other stars currently playing on the tour who have achieved this feat are Venus Williams, Iga Swiatek and Elina Svitolina.

Of her 13 titles, Rybakina has captured seven of them on hard court, including a Grand Slam at the Australian Open, the WTA Finals and a WTA 1000 at Indian Wells.

She has now won five on clay, one of which was a WTA 1000 at the Italian Open during the 2023 season.

Rybakina has won just one title on grass, which was the 2023 Wimbledon championship; her first Grand Slam.

Elena Rybakina’s chance to close in on Aryna Sabalenka at world number one

Rybakina is currently just under 3000 points behind Aryna Sabalenka at world number one in the rankings.

She will have the chance to close in on the Belarusian during the clay swing, however, due to her poor results last season.

In 2025, Rybakina suffered third-round exits at both the Madrid Open and the Italian Open before exiting Roland Garros in round four.

Meanwhile, Sabalenka made the final at all three of those tournaments, and will have plenty of points to defend.
