With Wimbledon just over a week away, anticipation is growing for the oldest and most prestigious event in the tennis calendar.
As the grass-court season trundles around, so too has renewed hope for many, given the unpredictability of this surface.
It truly makes it so anyone can feel like they have the chance to win, and given the injuries that so many are suffering with, that has never felt more true.
Rafael Nadal has already made it clear that he will miss this iteration of the tournament, whilst many others will be forced to follow suit.
We are seeking to detail all who might be out for Wimbledon.
Which players could be injured for Wimbledon?
Naturally, the outstanding absentee for this year’s event is Andy Murray.
Forced off injured against Jordan Thompson, it has since been revealed that he will need surgery on his spine to avoid further damage.
Murray’s Wimbledon absence will hit harder than most.

However, it is also worth noting that both of last year’s finalists from the women’s draw, Ons Jabeur and Marketa Vondrousova, were forced to retire from Berlin this week.
So too did Elena Rybakina, who won the tournament in 2022, before Aryna Sabalenka then followed suit.
The women are dropping like flies ahead of Wimbledon.
Elsewhere on the men’s side, Dan Evans was another who retired in just the Round of 32 in Queen’s, the same stage where Frances Tiafoe had to end his match early due to a nasty fall.

And finally, despite Novak Djokovic travelling to Wimbledon, his actual attendance in playing remains unlikely, just weeks after enduring surgery on his right knee.
With this much injury, it really is tough to predict who the frontrunners are to take the thrones.
Who would be the biggest miss for Wimbledon?
When combing through this lengthy list of potential absentees, it is impossible not to instantly feel sorry for Murray.
The Scotsman likely harboured grand plans for this to be his final Wimbledon before retiring, and now his attendance at not only this event, but the subsequent Olympics that will follow, has been thrown into doubt.
For a man who has received next to no luck across the last seven years or so, things just do not get any easier.

Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, could be a routine absence as his focus should remain on the Olympics, where he will be fit for if he opts against playing in SW19.
Jabeur is another whose inability to play would likely leave a big vacancy, as she has become a real fan favourite in recent years.
Having come so close in the past two campaigns, there is hope that this might mark the time for the 29-year-old to stand up and claim that elusive major title.
