David Beckham sends social media message to Aryna Sabalenka after their meeting in Miami

Aryna Sabalenka has continued to shine in 2025, with the Miami Open title recently added to her honours list.

ATP icon Jimmy Connors loves watching Sabalenka play, with the latter winning her 19th WTA title in Miami late last month.

Top seed Sabalenka beat fourth seed Jessica Pegula 7-5, 6-2 in the Miami Open final, earning her second title of the season.

Sabalenka surprised herself in the Miami Open final, having previously knocked out seeded players Jasmine Paolini, Qinwen Zheng and Danielle Collins.

The 26-year-old has maintained her world number one ranking following the success, with Iga Swiatek sitting in second.

And the Belarusian has been enjoying herself in Miami since the victory, with Sabalenka taking in the latest Inter Miami soccer match, in which they drew 1-1 with Toronto.

She met the club’s co-owner and legendary figure David Beckham at the Chase Stadium, with the pair taking to social media to share the interaction.

Writing on his Instagram story, Beckham said: “Thank you for coming to support us Aryna Sabalenka. Miami Open champion.”

Along with reposting that on her Instagram story, Sabalenka posted on Instagram: “Kickin’ it the Inter Miami game with the [football and crown emojis] David Beckham.”

World number one Sabalenka boasts a stunning career at the age of 26, which includes three Grand Slam titles.

The Belarusian is the current US Open champion, having also won the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024.

But her success has not been limited to Grand Slams, with Sabalenka lifting trophies in all sorts of events all over the world.

The likes of Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff will continue breathing down her neck in the world rankings, but she doesn’t look like slipping up anytime soon.
