Daniil Medvedev won his 23rd career title after his final opponent at the Dubai Tennis Championships, Tallon Griekspoor, withdrew before the match due to injury.
Griekspoor suffered a left hamstring injury in his semifinal showdown with Andrey Rublev, but still managed to defeat the fifth seed in straight sets.
The Dutchman was set to face Medvedev for just the second time in his career, following their clash in the Dubai quarterfinals last year, but could not continue his impressive 2026 campaign in the Emirate.

Medvedev tied four-time major champion Jannik Sinner‘s tally of hard-court titles, with Novak Djokovic way ahead in front on 72.

He picked up a sole crown on grass at the Mallorca Championships back in 2021.
Already this year, Medvedev has won more titles than he did in 2024 and 2025 combined.
