Daniil Medvedev enjoyed a positive start to life under a new coaching team towards the end of his 2025 campaign.
After Medvedev parted ways with Gilles Cervara, he appointed Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, with whom he has seen a return to form.
The Russian reached back-to-back semifinals at the China Open and the Shanghai Masters, before ending his 882-day title drought at the Almaty Open.

Medvedev is now in the offseason, where he will finally be able to spend valuable time with the new team and work on his game.
There is one area of his game, though, which Medvedev suggested he will be working on more than any other ahead of the 2026 season.

“There is a new physical training coach, so the format of the work is a little bit different, which is normal. All coaches are different.
“We are trying to improve it. At the end of last season, for many reasons, including the way the season was going, I lacked physicality in some matches.
“We are working on it and we will see how it goes next season.”
