Daniil Medvedev is among the big names going strong at Wimbledon, with the Russian now into the third round.
He breezed past American Aleksandar Kovacevic in round one at SW19, clinching a straightforward 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win.
But the world number five was definitely made to work very hard against Alexandre Muller in round two, eventually beating the Frenchman 6-7(3-7), 7-6(7-4), 6-4, 7-5.
German Jan-Lennard Struff awaits Medvedev in round three of Wimbledon, with the latter keen to continue his push for a second Grand Slam title.
The former world number one has been very unlucky in his pursuit of major success, losing five of his six finals.

Unfortunately, things aren’t going to get much easier from here on in for Medvedev as he eyes a first Wimbledon title.
The Russian has a very tough route to the final, with tenth seed Grigor Dimitrov potentially up next should Medvedev make it to round four.

But Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are also on his side of the draw, and are players that Medvedev both knows a lot about and will not want to meet anytime soon.
The world number five has very bad memories of the duo in 2024 alone, having lost the 2024 Australian Open to the Italian.
Medvedev then lost to Alcaraz at Indian Wells in March, having also lost to the Spaniard in the 2023 Wimbledon semi-final.

Sinner and Alcaraz are the favourites of Roger Federer’s former coach Ivan Ljubicic to win Wimbledon, with John McEnroe backing Alcaraz alone.
Both players are into the third round, with Medvedev now highlighting the difference between the two young stars on the court.
“Carlos has a very big power quality,” Medvedev said in his second round press conference. “When he was like 17, he could miss a lot. So you’re like ‘ok, he has these crazy shots, but at least he misses.’
“When he’s in the zone now he doesn’t miss much. You could see at Roland Garros in some moments he was missing and struggling, and that’s amazing, because he played two big top players Jannik and Zverev, even not playing his best and missing.
“Every time he hit a rocket in the court, the other guy would be in such trouble. That’s his big quality. Very, very strong shots. Doesn’t matter the position.
“It’s easy for him to generate power from slow balls, sometimes many players have trouble, that’s his biggest quality in my opinion.”
Medvedev then turned his focus to Sinner, saying: “Jannik is a bit different, but kind of the same. Big quality of strokes.
“The motion is different so the way the ball is coming is different. Even if Jannik has very big power, Carlos has even more.
“Jannik started to find it at the end of last year in Canada when he won his first Masters, he started missing less.
“We always knew it’s tough to play him. He can hit winners from every position on the court, but he could miss. Now he doesn’t miss much. It’s not easy.
“In order to beat him you know you have to step out there, you need to be able to hit winners from every position of the court yourself. It’s not easy to play them. It’s a great challenge. They’re already great champions of the sport. They have a big career ahead of them to make history.”
