The 2026 edition of the Miami Open is underway, and several American women are looking to go all the way in the second half of the Sunshine Double.
Fresh off her run to the quarterfinals in Indian Wells, fifth seed Jessica Pegula is bidding to claim her second WTA 1000 crown of the season, following her Dubai triumph.
Meanwhile, Coco Gauff will hope to get her year back on track after being forced to call an early end to her campaign in ‘Tennis Paradise’.
Who are you backing to complete the sunshine double?
Or do you think both Sabalenka and Sinner will win the Miami Open?
Pegula and Gauff are the fourth and fifth seeds at the Miami Open, and the American favourites to win the tournament.
However, US star Danielle Collins thinks Amanda Anisimova is the home hope with the best chance.

Danielle Collins picks the home hope with the best chance in Miami
Asked on Tennis Channel to pick which American woman she thinks will go the furthest in Miami, Collins took a moment to think.
She then said: “Ok, speaking of home court advantage, Anisimova lives just about 20 to 30 minutes away from here.
“This is her home tournament as well. I think she would love to have a good result here. I could see her going pretty far in Miami.”

Anisimova has struggled to make a deep run at the Miami Open over the years, having tallied multiple early exits.
Last year, she achieved her best finish at the event by making the fourth round before bowing out to Emma Raducanu.
She earned revenge against Raducanu at the Indian Wells earlier this month, beating the Briton in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

The story of Amanda Anisimova’s 2026 season on the tour so far
After recording her best year on tour in 2025, Anisimova has yet to reach a final during the 2026 WTA season.
She kicked off her 2026 campaign at the Brisbane International, where she was knocked out in the third round.
At the Australian Open, Anisimova made it to the quarterfinals, but could not find an answer for compatriot Pegula.
Following a retirement in Doha, the 24-year-old enjoyed her best tournament run of the year so far by advancing to the semifinals, but once again fell to Pegula.
In Indian Wells, Anisimova was beaten by 19-year-old star Victoria Mboko.
