The women’s singles final at this year’s Wimbledon Championships will be an all-Czech affair, featuring Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova.

It will be the first time the WTA title bout in SW19 has been contested by two compatriots since 2009, when Serena Williams triumphed over her older sister, Venus, to hoist an 11th Grand Slam title.

Both stars will be playing in their first Wimbledon final, though Muchova is appearing in her second major final, having reached the championship match at Roland Garros back in 2023.

Noskova, just 21, has broken new ground in her career at the All England Club with a remarkable run, featuring wins over Madison Keys, Elise Mertens and Marta Kostyuk.

Ahead of the match, the president of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, sent a message to both Wimbledon finalists.

After the final, of the last 15 titles in women’s singles at Wimbledon, five will have been won by Czech players.

Linda Noskova’s head-to-head record with Karolina Muchova

Noskova and Muchova have met each other just once before on the WTA Tour, with their sole clash coming on hard court at last year’s US Open.

In the round of 32 at Flushing Meadows, Muchova came back from a set down to beat Noskova.

Muchova has beaten three former Grand Slam champions en route to the 2026 Wimbledon final, overcoming Krejcikova, Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff.

Noskova on the other hand, has not dropped a set in her last three matches of the tournament.

The two will now face off for the first time on grass, with a maiden Grand Slam title up for grabs.
