Coco Gauff is the toast of the United States after getting her hands on a second Grand Slam title by winning the French Open in Paris.
Gauff is a wonderful ambassador for women in sport and at just 21-years-old, she’s already achieved so much in the game of tennis.
Aryna Sabalenka was despatched in the final, with Gauff handling the tricky Roland Garros conditions better than the world number one.
Gauff will now have her sights set on Wimbledon and having never been beyond round four at the All England Club, the hope will be that she can improve at the iconic tournament.
It’s been a solid few months for women’s tennis in America, with Madison Keys winning the Australian Open back in January, and things do seem to be on the up for the proud sporting nation.

Corey Gauff explains why he’s so excited about Coco Gauff’s future
With Gauff sitting as the world number two and Jessica Pegula a place below in the third, the future is clearly bright for tennis in the United States.
Keys and Emma Navarro are also capable players, with Danielle Collins and Sofia Kenin also performing steadily in the rankings.
Gauff’s parents are supremely proud of their daughter and Corey has now explained why he believes it’s an exciting time for Coco after her French Open victory.
He told The Tennis Channel: “It was just relief and I was just proud of her. It definitely felt different to the US Open. The US Open felt like a tremendous burden was being lifted because she had come close so many times and she really wanted to do it in her teenage years.
“This was more confirmation that she is doing the right work on a daily basis and having the right attitude. If you continue that you will continue to get better and I really, truly feel that her best years are ahead of her. There is so much more she can do to grow her game and get better, so I will be excited to see how she is playing when she is 25 or 26.
“When you see the tour now, these girls are in their maturation process is very different. You have got a Paolini at 29, Pegula got into the top 10 much later, and Sabalenka is 27.
“It’s very tough to be young on tour because I think the competitiveness is a lot better than it was years ago.”
Gauff can have the same impact on tennis as Serena Williams
Unless she goes on a really dominant streak, it’s hard to imagine that Gauff will get anywhere close to the 23 Grand Slam titles that the iconic Serena won during her career.
However, sport isn’t just about the titles you win, but also the impact you have on people, and in Gauff’s case, women, across the globe.
Females are constantly fighting a battle to be recognised on an even keel to the men in every sport, and the prize money in tennis in recent years has been amended accordingly.
Serena was a great role model for women all over the world, and now, Gauff has a chance to take over that mantle with fans whipping up quite the frenzy after her French Open success.
The talented star is an inspiration to millions, and as a likeable character, it’s great to see her lay claim to another of the game’s top prizes.
