Coco Gauff has spoken on how her coaches have helped to improve her game.
The 20-year-old is having a solid season after winning her first Grand Slam at the US Open last season.
She has also reached a career-high ranking of World number two and is now on a quest to win her first Wimbledon title.
Gauff has grown into one of the more consistent players on tour and is regarded as one of the finest athletes in the game, and her coaches have played a significant role in that.
Coco Gauff explained what her coaches have helped to improve in her game
Gauff hired Brad Gilbert in July 2023 as a consultant and she added former coach Jean-Cristophe Faurel to her team ahead of the clay-court season in April.
She worked with Frenchman when she was 14, and he was in her coaching box during her Wimbledon debut in 2019, before they split at the end of 2020.
Since he rejoined her team alongside Gilbert, Gauff spoke about how her coaches have influenced her. “I love having JC back. I feel like he brings a lot to my game. I feel like I have improved a lot in a short space of time since we have been together, especially in the efficiency of footwork,” she told reporters.
“It is tough to improve that in the season but I do think it’s something that I have improved a lot since when we first started until now. And knowing him it didn’t feel like a change, it just felt right.
“He [JC] is a great coach, a great person, he knows my family well and me well and it’s great to have him back. He’s definitely family.”

What have Coco Gauff’s results been since changing her coaching team?
After Gilbert joined her coaching team Gauff had the best run of her career and she has continued to go from strength to strength.
In the summer of 2023 she claimed the Washington and Cincinnati titles, before winning the US Open title beating Aryna Sabalenka in the final.
Gauff achieved her best result at the WTA Finals by reaching the last four in November 2023, and made it to the Australian Open semi-finals for the first time in her career this past January.
After reaching the Italian Open and French Open semifinals Gauff became the World number two for the first time in June.
The player is now just one match away from achieving her best result at Wimbledon and she aims to lift the Venus Rosewater Dish for the first time at Wimbledon this year.
