As well as being a top singles player Coco Gauff is also an impressive doubles player.
She regularly competes in doubles events throughout the season and though she is now out of the French Open women’s singles event, she can still claim glory as a duo alongside Kateřina Siniaková.
The World number three joined forces with the Czech player who has won seven Grand Slam doubles titles.
It is a goal of the 20-year-old’s to claim Grand Slam doubles success, but the clock may be ticking on how long she plans to pursue that dream.
How much longer does Coco Gauff plan to play doubles?
Gauff has eight doubles titles to her name, three of which came alongside Caty McNally and the other five coming with World number five Jessica Pegula.
In Rome Gauff played alongside Erin Routliffe and they reached the final where they lost to the Italian duo of Sara Errani and Saturday’s French Open finalist Jasmine Paolini.
The American now has a chance to win another doubles title alongside a new partner and she wants to maximise her time playing doubles as much as possible.
“I don’t think long,” Gauff told reporters when asked how long she wants to keep playing doubles. “I have doubles tomorrow and I have a great partner and I feel like we have a good shot to win.
“I really want to win a doubles slam because, I don’t want to say close that chapter of my career, but it’s something that once I do it, I don’t know if I will continue to chase more. I’m not saying I won’t play doubles. So I’m focused on that.”

What are Coco Gauff’s biggest achievements in doubles?
Gauff’s biggest doubles wins came alongside Pegula when the pair won the WTA 1000 events in Miami, Toronto, and successive Doha titles in 2022 and 2023.
The American pair’s success saw them rise to the top of the WTA doubles rankings in September 2023, and qualified for that year’s WTA Finals as the top seeds.
Their best result at a Grand Slam came in 2022 when they reached the Roland Garros final, where they were outlasted by the French pair of Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic.
In 2024 Gauff aims to go one better than two years ago and will be counting on the experience of Siniaková to help her achieve that.
