Coco Gauff triumphed over Iga Swiatek at the United Cup to force a decider in the tie between the US and Poland.
Following Taylor Fritz‘s shock defeat to Hubert Hurkacz earlier in the day, Gauff made it 1-1 after beating Swiatek in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

The American star has now won three of her four singles matches at the United Cup, having secured victories earlier in the tournament over Solana Sierra and Maria Sakkari.
Gauff increased her winning streak against Swiatek to four matches, with the head-to-head now 11-5 in favour of the Pole.

In her on-court interview after the match, the world number four said: “My crowd support on the bench was really amazing.

Where will Coco Gauff be ranked at the end of the 2026 season?
“It’s Saturday, so there’s no bedtime, so can you guys stay and cheer for us in the mixed [doubles] please. Thank you.”
Swiatek was attempting a late comeback in the second set when she held her serve to avoid a bagel, before breaking Gauff to make it 5-2.
When asked how she was able to close out the match, Gauff responded: “I didn’t let the opportunities that I had in the first two times I had match points get away from me.
“She played well, maybe there was one error, the backhand, but after that she played the better tennis, but I knew that if I was playing the whole match, I would get it done.”
