Carlos Alcaraz’s Australian Open title will forever be remembered as one of the most remarkable feats in tennis history, which secured his spot as the greatest youngster ever.
After all, despite placing so much pressure on himself in the build-up to the event, outlining his desperation to complete the career Grand Slam this year, he followed through with minimal fuss.
To show that kind of belief in himself, and to then back it up on the biggest stage with the entire world watching, is the mark of a true legend.
And, in return, some other legends of the sport have taken to Instagram to congratulate him on a stunning achievement.
Carlos Alcaraz receives messages after his Australian Open title
The reaction came from his post, which pictured him holding the Australian Open trophy. It was simply captioned: “WE DID IT!!!”
Then, when delving into the comments section, some huge names were present offering their messages to the new champion in Melbourne.
Will Carlos Alcaraz win the Calendar Slam in 2026?
If not, which Grand Slam is he going to fail to win?
Coco Gauff was one such example, simlpy writing ‘congratulations’, accompanied by four trophy emojis, one for each of the Grand Slams he has now won.
Maria Sharapova further acknowledged this achievement, noting ‘career slam’ alongside a crown emoji.
Elsewhere, Holger Rune offered a more personal message, writing: “Huge congratulations to you, your family and your team.”
Djokovic also had kind words for Alcaraz after his defeat in the final, praising him for continuing to create history.
Carlos Alcaraz is on track to become the greatest of all time
Whilst he may be the greatest youngster of all time, as noted earlier, he is still a long way from being the outright greatest tennis player of all time.
However, he’s certainly on the right path towards claiming that title.

Becoming the youngest to ever complete the career Grand Slam certainly helps in that regard, and having just claimed his seventh major title at the start of what promises to be yet another hugely successful season, it’d be unwise to bet against him.
That being said, it’s worth putting what Carlos Alcaraz needs to achieve into perspective.
To reach Djokovic’s tally of 24 Grand Slam titles, he would need to win two a year for the next eight years, provided he claimed another one in 2026.
Who finishes their career on more majors – Alcaraz or Djokovic?
That would make him 30 when he matched his record, thus giving him plenty of time to surpass it.
If he stays fit and motivated, there’s no reason why he couldn’t do it sooner. The world will be watching, but Alcaraz has already exhibited his ability to perform under such scrutiny.
