Madison Keys is now the last remaining American woman at Indian Wells, with Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula falling in the round of 16.
Keys has been impressing at Indian Wells, with the WTA Tour number five playing her first tournament since winning the Australian Open.
Andrea Petkovic tipped Keys to be dangerous at Indian Wells, and that scenario has certainly played out so far.
Keys now meets Belinda Bencic in the quarter-finals of Indian Wells, with the Swiss ace having just knocked out Gauff.
Their compatriot Pegula meanwhile was beaten by Elina Svitolina, while Emma Navarro, the other American in the top 10, lost in the round of 32.

Coco Gauff admits she is the biggest trash talker after Madison Keys verdict
As always, along with focusing on their games, the stars of the women’s game have been undertaking their media duties at Indian Wells.
And one such duty has involved naming the biggest trash talker for the WTA Tour on X, with Keys saying: “Biggest trash talker is, I feel like, okay, I feel like Coco… I saw her just, she kind of went pretty hard at Jess.
“I know that they were supposed to go to the movies, then they didn’t to go the movies. Yeah just walked in and was like, oh, you. Funny to watch though.”
Interjected with Keys’s comments, Gauff said: “Okay honestly on the women I don’t think anyone trash talks.
“But I feel like that would have to be probably low-key me, low-key talking to the American guys. I don’t know, on the women, no one trash talks, we’re all nice.”
And defending herself over her interaction with Pegula, she said: “Oh, but that’s not trash talking, that’s just being real. She ignored my text, so maybe Jess should be the trash talker, because she ignored me.”
Madison Keys and Coco Gauff among American women pushing each other
The light-hearted jibes related to Gauff recently interrupting some social content from Pegula in Dubai, with the former saying of the latter: “This girl invited me to go to the movies, I said let me know when you want to go, and she never responded. So she’s fake.”
Trash talking has certainly been witnessed across the WTA and ATP tours over the years, but as far as Gauff is concerned, it is mainly a male issue.

Her fellow American John McEnroe perhaps jumps to mind in this regard, although his short temper wasn’t just directed at opposing players.
But as Gauff has also alluded to, it is really clear that many of the women are genuinely supporting one another in recent times.
And not only is it fantastic to see, but it has undoubtedly played a small part in helping four American women climb into the top 10 of the world rankings.
