The WTA Finals are taking centre stage right now with Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff two players looking to claim the final prize of the year.
Gauff and Swiatek have had contrasting campaigns with the Polish player winning a Grand Slam title and Gauff failing to do so.
Swiatek is currently the number two in the female world rankings, with Gauff sitting a place below her in third.
Both players will fancy their chances of success in Saudi Arabia and on their day they’re capable of beating anybody.
Gauff kicked off her WTA Finals campaign in style by defeating compatriot Jessica Pegula in straight sets.
Swiatek had to work harder to beat number eight seed Barbora Krejcikova, coming through in three sets.

Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek pick the tournament they enjoyed winning the most
As the WTA Finals take centre stage, the top players in female tennis have been quizzed on a number of matters within tennis.
In posts uploaded to Instagram, the players have all been asked to pick which tournament win they enjoyed the most.
It might not come as a surprise that Gauff has picked out her only Grand Slam success at the US Open in 2023.
On that occasion, she overcame Aryna Sabalenka in the final in three sets and that is probably the defining moment of her career to date.
Swiatek has done a little bit better than Gauff in the major events and boasts five Grand Slam titles to her name.
She has won four of the last five French Open titles and won at Roland Garros for the third time in succession this year by beating Jasmine Paolini in the final.
Gauff record at the US Open and Swiatek at the French Open
The two top players will face each other on Tuesday and that promises to be a very exciting round-robin match up at the WTA Finals.
Both players have strong records at the tournament that they have respectively picked as their favourite win.
Gauff claimed her home Grand Slam to tick off a maiden win in 2023 – although she could only reach the fourth round in her defence of the crown this year.
As for Swiatek, it’s no surprise that she picked out the Grand Slam that takes place in Paris as her favourite win.
She’s quickly become a female version of Rafael Nadal when it comes to playing on the clay at Roland Garros.
Having won the last three titles at that event she’s very much the player to beat on the clay next year as well.
Both Swiatek and Gauff will go in search of more major titles next year and winning the WTA Finals would ultimately send a message to their rivals ahead of 2025.
