Chris Evert believes Ons Jabeur is well placed to win the Wimbledon title.
The Tunisian equalled her best result of the season by reaching the quarter-finals of the French Open where she took on Coco Gauff.
Despite taking the first set, the eighth seed lost the contest but she will be encouraged by her improved form during what has been a challenging season.
Evert noticed this and as a result expects the 29-year-old to be a force to be reckoned with on the grass.
Chris Evert predicts a strong Wimbledon run for Ons Jabeur
Jabeur equalled her best result at the French Open by reaching the quarter-finals for a second time. But the transition from clay to the grass court is one she will enjoy, having reached the Wimbledon final for the past two seasons.
Given her grass court record and improved level of play, Evert expects Jabeur to be in the mix at the All England Club once again.
“Ons made great strides this week, she really went up a couple of levels from how she has been playing over the first part of the year,” Evert said on Eurosport.
”This is only going to propel her for Wimbledon where that surface will be easier for her with her serve and volleys and touch shots, and the ball stays down low.
“She’s in a good position for Wimbledon and the rest of the year, so it’s great to see her healthy and playing better with confidence.”

Who defeated Ons Jabeur at Roland Garros?
Jabeur made a strong start to her quarter-final match against Gauff. She broke the third seed’s serve at 3-3 with an excellent array of shots and went on to claim the first set 6-4.
But the 2022 US Open finalist was unable to maintain her consistency as Gauff upped her level to take the second set.
Jabeur hit 12 winners to just 10 unforced errors in set one, but could not sustain this positive ratio in sets two and three as her play became more erratic and Gauff cleaned up some of her errors and hit mroe aggressively with her forehand.
Gauff claimed the win after Jabeur sent a smash volley long and claimed 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win, and will face Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals.
