Some big news has emerged regarding Carlos Alcaraz and his future at the ATP Finals.
The Spaniard is already behind the eight-ball in terms of qualification for the semi-finals in Turin.
He was beaten comfortably by Casper Ruud yesterday – with the Norwegian beating Alcaraz for the first time in his career.
Alcaraz now has Andrey Rublev and Alexander Zverev to play with two wins likely to be required.
But, Alcaraz doesn’t appear to be in the best of health and some news has come to light from Turin this morning.

What happened in Carlos Alcaraz practice session on Tuesday
It would appear that Alcaraz was forced to cancel his practice session on Tuesday morning.
The player was clearly struggling with some sort of illness against Ruud yesterday and it would appear that he’s no better.
Alcaraz has played himself into the ground this season and has two Grand Slam titles to show for his efforts.
The 21-year-old claimed victory at the French Open and Wimbledon to take his tally of major titles to four.
It would be a real shame if Alcaraz can’t take to the court tomorrow against Rublev and it would end his participation at the event.
The Alicante-born performer never quits but he has to put his health above anything else in this situation.
As a young player he will want to continue playing but he can’t risk making himself worse ahead of 2025.
Who would replace Carlos Alcaraz in ATP Finals if he has to withdraw
Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the men waiting in the wings as an alternative for this event.
The Greek performer missed out on the 2024 event despite winning the competition in 2019.
Tsitsipas hasn’t had a strong campaign by his standards but any player would love to feature at the end-of-year finals event.
However, he will need two players to pull out for him to get his racket out of his bag, with Grigor Dimitrov the man ahead of him.
Right now, it’s important not to count Alcaraz out just yet and he does have another day to recover from whatever it is that’s going on with his body.
It would be a sad way for the Spaniard’s year to end and hopefully, he can recover from his illness.
