Many top ATP players have struggled to beat the top two this year, and Andrey Rublev has recently spoken about what makes Alcaraz and Sinner special.

Now, Alcaraz has commented on his biggest rival and explained what he wants to happen in his and Sinner’s future.

Carlos Alcaraz comments on his rivalry with Jannik Sinner

Alcaraz has just faced a shock defeat to Cameron Norrie in his first match at the Paris Masters, but prior to even taking to the match court he spoke to France TV Sport.

In this interview, Alcaraz was asked about his rivalry with Sinner, which he spoke glowingly about and claimed that he just wants it to continue.

Alcaraz also spoke about the tactics he tries to use to beat Sinner when they play matches against each other.

“Obviously, I have a lot of respect for him on the court for everything he does and how he behaves,” said Alcaraz. “But also, I have a lot of respect off the court for the person he is, because he is a very simple, very humble person, with very good values, like his family or his friends, which is something I really appreciate and admire and that is something that deserves real appreciation.

“That’s why I think we have this beautiful rivalry. Thanks to the respect, the good relationship, and the fact that we are friends off the court.”

“He makes me better every time I face him, every time we play, I try to get into his head. Thinking about what he is going to do to try to win. I also try to frustrate him to beat me, I think it’s something beautiful, It pushes us to our limits every time, we get better every time.

“And I think that when we face each other in front of a crowd, it’s something magnificent to see and to see that we play great matches. So it’s a rivalry that I hope will last much longer.”

Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sinner Head-to-Head

Alcaraz and Sinner’s rivalry actually started at the Paris Masters, and they have played many more times since then.

This includes three Grand Slam finals, with Alcaraz beating Sinner at the US Open in their most recent match.

That has become somewhat of a trend in recent times, with Alcaraz seemingly having an advantage over Sinner with a 10-5 lead in their head-to-head.
