Carlos Alcaraz will face either Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo Musetti in the battle for the gold medal.
Well that Olympic semi-final was all over rather quickly wasn’t it?
The formidable Carlos Alcaraz put on yet another magnificent show as he swept aside Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 6-1, in what was simply pure domination from minute one.
With the match taking just over an hour, it will be an episode the Canadian would sooner forget.
Auger-Aliassime cannot have a particularly fond relationship, at least on-court, with Alcaraz, with the Spaniard beating him 6-3, 6-3, 6-1, in the French Open exactly two months ago.

Carlos Alcaraz responds to his history-making achievement as he reaches the Olympic singles final
With a raised fist, the Spaniard simply looks unstoppable and is on course for a glorious hat-trick, with the French Open and Wimbledon already won this summer.
After the victory on Discovery Plus’ Olympic tennis coverage, Alcaraz was told: “You’re the youngest men’s singles finalist in 120 years..”
With a wry smile the 21-year-old responded: “I’m gonna act like I didn’t hear that. Honestly it’s gonna be a really special moment for me in my life and career.
“I’ll try to enjoy this moment. It’s gonna be difficult for sure, but it’s gonna be special. I’ll try to focus on myself.
“I’ll try not to hear all the fans and people saying I’m gonna win. I just wanna give my 100% and my best tennis. Hopefully I’ll reach my goal to get the gold.”
Just as Rafael Nadal bows out, a new ‘King of Clay’ has been born
The Olympic tennis has been a wonderful week of goodbyes with Andy Murray calling time on his career, with Rafael Nadal certainly featuring at his final games.
The doubles partnership between Alcaraz and Nadal was pure theatre, with the two Roland Garros favorites drawing in the eyes of every tennis fan.
With Alcaraz opening his French Open account just two months ago, before forging this historic Olympic run, the 21-year-old has simply leapt to the top of the game.
While he needs to win 13 more at Roland Garros simply to match Nadal, the new King has been duly crowned and looks set for gold in Paris.
