Carlos Alcaraz will have been confident heading into his Wimbledon title defence following his most recent Grand Slam.
The Spaniard went all the way at the French Open last month, overcoming the likes of Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev on his way to the trophy.
But that third Grand Slam success is already well in the past for the 21-year-old, who is already into round three at Wimbledon.
The Spanish star overcame Mark Lajal in round one, with Alcaraz forced to battle past the Estonian 7-6(7-3), 7-5, 6-2.
Another tricky test was passed in round two, with the defending champion beating Australian Aleksandar Vukic 7-6(7-5), 6-2, 6-2.

Carlos Alcaraz provides fitness update at Wimbledon
Unsurprisingly, however, a more experienced player in Frances Tiafoe now awaits Alcaraz in the third round at SW19, with the latter providing a fitness update after his latest win.
When asked how his game compares to 12 months ago in his second round press conference, Alcaraz said: “It’s a good question.

“I think it’s similar. I am feeling similar to last year. I say I am getting better and better and if I keep winning I am going to find the same level as the final last year.
“I am going to say that I reached the top of the top in the final last year. I am feeling like I playing great tennis and physically I am feeling great, so hopefully keep going.”
Can Carlos Alcaraz win his second Wimbledon title?
Alcaraz is really enjoying his tennis at this moment in time, and may just be the man to beat at Wimbledon.
But Hollywood icon Steve Carell has noticed that the young Spaniard doesn’t get downbeat even when losing a great point, such is his love for the sport.
Alcaraz has perhaps already lost more points than he would have hoped at this stage of the competition, but ultimately he will be happy to have reached the third round.
Tiafoe certainly represents a tough test, with the world number 29 having battled past Matteo Arnaldi and Borna Coric in his first two rounds.
It is, however, the world number three who will be the favourite for the meeting, with John McEnroe naming Alcaraz as his favourite to go on and lift the trophy.
