Carlos Alcaraz now boasts a better career winning percentage than Roger Federer after his latest win at Indian Wells.

Alcaraz defeated Cameron Norrie 6-3, 6-4 in the Indian Wells quarterfinals, setting up a semifinal clash with Daniil Medvedev.

Medvedev thinks he can compete against Alcaraz, who has just made a very significant career move in California.

How do you feel about Carlos Alcaraz’s dominance of men’s tennis right now?

Is it at risk of making the men's game boring?

Carlos Alcaraz overtakes Roger Federer’s career winning percentage

For ATP players with a minimum of 200 matches played in the Open Era, the Spaniard now boasts the fourth-best career winning percentage.

Alcaraz has a win-loss record of 296-65 for his stunning career so far, equating to a winning percentage of .8199.

That figure has helped him surpass tennis legend Federer, who retired in 2022 with a record of 1,251-275, for a winning percentage of .8198.

Alcaraz is now behind only Novak Djokovic (.8327), Rafael Nadal (.8259), and Bjorn Borg (.8238) for career winning percentages.

Further down the list lies his current ATP rival Jannik Sinner, who has a figure of .7905 thanks to his 332-88 career record.

Carlos Alcaraz overcomes ‘tricky’ test against Cameron Norrie

Alcaraz will now be looking to improve his record further against Medvedev, who just knocked out defending champion Jack Draper.

Draper certainly played his role in a fine tournament for British tennis, having been joined in the quarterfinals by Norrie.

And the latter is an opponent who Alcaraz certainly has trouble against, but he exacted revenge at Indian Wells after losing to Norrie in Paris last year.

The Spaniard said of the Briton after beating him in California: “I struggle a lot with his style. Every time I play against him it’s always really tough for me.

“It’s a little bit confusing with his style, his [heavy] topspin forehand, super high. And then the backhand, really flat and really low. Sometimes it’s tricky to play against him.

“I’m finding the right shot. I played well. I played solid. I played aggressive when I could. I’m happy to play this level.”

Is Jack Draper the best player outside of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner?

If not, who is? Let us know in the comments!

While he has often struggled to deal with Norrie’s game, he does now boast a 6-3 record against his ATP counterpart.

He has an even better 6-2 record against Medvedev, with the winner of their match set to take on either Jannik Sinner or Alexander Zverev in the Indian Wells final.

Alcaraz is currently chasing his third title at Tennis Paradise, having beaten Medvedev to lift the trophy in both 2023 and 2024.
