Carlos Alcaraz is guaranteed an Olympic medal at his debut games in Paris.

The 21-year-old Spaniard is gearing up for the summer of dreams after having scooped up two grand slam titles at the French Open and Wimbledon already this year.

Standing in his way from the final was Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, who Carlos Alcaraz thrashed exactly two months ago 6-3, 6-3, 6-1, on his journey to Roland Garros glory.

Today was an even more brutal affair, with Alcaraz losing just two games in 65 minutes of total domination.

The Spaniard still seems remarkably energised despite having played a handful of lengthy doubles matches with Rafael Nadal.

With still no sets dropped in the singles, Alcaraz is merely two sets away from capping off a glorious two months of tennis.

Carlos Alcaraz makes Olympic and tennis history after his Olympic semi-final victory

Upon Alcaraz reaching the final and therefore guaranteeing himself a medal, he became the second male player after Nadal to win Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and an Olympic singles medal in the same year.

This completely remarkable feat at just 21 was also completed by Nadal in his youth, with the then 22-year-old picking up the gold in Beijing to complete the hat-trick.

Nadal also added another Olympic gold to his list of titles, when he and Marc Lopez clinched the men’s doubles title in Rio.

Alcaraz however has been no stranger to breaking records, as he remains the youngest player to ever complete the ‘Channel Slam’, as well as becoming the youngest man to earn a major trophy on all three surfaces.

Sorry Novak Djokovic but Carlos Alcaraz won’t be settling for silver

While the Serb is yet to confirm his spot in the singles final, he has made no secret about his wishes to win the gold.

With two fourth placed finishes and a bronze in Beijing, the 24-time major winner has simply not been able to itch this irritating Olympic scratch.

Novak Djokovic’s ambitions to reach beyond his current 24 grand slam haul has been disrupted twice by Alcaraz, with the Spaniard winning consecutive Wimbledon titles against the Serb.

While Djokovic’s first hurdle will be to beat the dynamic Lorenzo Musetti and power through his knee niggle, he will be forced to quickly come to terms with the utterly ruthless opponent waiting.
