Carlos Alcaraz set up an Italian Open quarter-final against Jack Draper.

The Spaniard returned to action in Rome after missing the Madrid Open due to injury.

The 21-year-old has looked solid on what is just his second appearance at the Foro Italico so far.

Carlos Alcaraz faced a stern test against Karen Khachanov, and that is likely to be the case when he takes on Jack Draper for a spot in the semi-finals in Rome.

Carlos Alcaraz has a warning for Jack Draper ahead of their Italian Open clash

Draper continued his momentum from reaching the Madrid Open final by booking his spot in the last eight in Rome.

He came from a set down to beat the tricky Corentin Moutet to become the youngest British player in the Open Era to reach the last eight of the Italian Open in the process.

Ahead of their clash, Alcaraz relishes the chance to face Draper again and he wants revenge after losing to him at Indian Wells.

“I’m just ready. I’m just looking forward to playing against him,” Spaniard told reporters in Rome. “He’s one of the best players in the world right now. The results shows how good is playing lately.

“Yeah, I just want to take revenge from Indian Wells. I will try to be more ready than Indian Wells. It is going to be an interesting match to watch and to play.”

What is Carlos Alcaraz and Jack Draper’s head-to-head record?

Alcaraz and Draper have played one another on five previous occasions.

The five-time Grand Slam champion has won three meetings, two of which were due to injury retirements from Draper.

The World number five claimed his first win over Alcaraz at the 2024 Queen’s Club championships in straight sets, ending the World number three’s title defence.

Their latest meeting, and perhaps the biggest of the five, came in the semi-finals of the Indian Wells Masters.

Draper shocked the world and claimed a three-set victory, before going on to defeat Holger Rune to win the biggest title of his career.
