Carlos Alcaraz dominated Arthur Fils in the 2026 Qatar Open final, 6-2, 6-1.
The Spaniard barely broke a sweat in Doha, picking up his 26th title on Saturday.
Alcaraz extended his ATP winning streak to 12 with his victory in the Middle East, proving once again why he is the man to beat in men’s tennis.
Who will retire with more Grand Slam titles – Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic?
Let us know why in the comments!
The win was arguably the most dominant of Alcaraz’s career so far, breaking a personal record in the final by some margin.
Carlos Alcaraz wins the quickest final of his career
Alcaraz defeated Fils in 50 minutes.
That’s the quickest Alcaraz has ever won an ATP Tour final.

His previous record win in a final was a 1hr, 2-minute triumph against Alexander Zverev at the Madrid Open in 2022.
Shattering that record, Alcaraz was proud of his efforts in the Middle East.
“I just remember the feeling that I had last year, losing in the quarterfinals, so I came this year hungry for more, hungry to go further in this tournament,” he said during his on-court interview.

“I’m just really happy, proud of everything I’ve done with my team, on and off the court.
“I feel like the job is finished right now.”

Job done for Alcaraz, but what does the win do for him?
Well, it widens the gap between him and the world number two, Jannik Sinner.

The ‘two things’ that contributed to Carlos Alcaraz’s record win
During Sky Sports’ post-match coverage, former British tennis star Colin Fleming shared his thoughts on the one-sided final.
“What a week for Carlos Alcaraz, what a performance,” he said.
“To get a scoreline that one-sided, a match that quick, two things have happened
“[Arthur] Fils has struggled, never really settled into this final.
“But what a performance from Alcaraz, he finished it with 19 [14] winners!

Fleming did, however, take a moment to congratulate Fils, who enjoyed a strong week in just his third tournament back from injury.
“Very positive week for Arthur Fils,” he said.
“Tonight will hurt, there’s no doubt about that, but making a final this soon into his comeback, really impressive result from Fils.
Is Arthur Fils a genuine threat to Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner?
“But once again, on the ATP Tour, it’s time for Carlos Alcaraz to celebrate.”
Alcaraz will have plenty of time to celebrate before he heads over to the United States for the two Masters 1000 events: Indian Wells and the Miami Open.
Fils, on the other hand, is entered into the Dubai Tennis Championships draw.
If he doesn’t withdraw, Fils will play Jiri Lehecka in the first round next week.
