Boris Becker shared his immediate response to Goran Ivanisevic becoming Elena Rybakina’s new coach.
24 hours before the WTA Finals is due to begin, it was announced that the World number five will be working with her fellow Wimbledon champion from 2025.
According to journalist Reem Abulleil of the National news, Arab News and Eurosport, Ivanisevic will start coaching Rybakina in the off-season.
The 25-year-old will be the first player from the WTA Tour that will be coached by Ivanisevic after she parted ways with Stefano Vukov before the US Open.

Another former player, this time Chris Evert took to X to react to the announcement. “Good guy, good choice,” the 18-time Grand Slam champion said.

Becker was not wrong when he referred to Ivanisevic as his ‘old nemesis’.
During their playing careers, the pair faced one another 19 times. The German holds a slender lead of 10 wins to Goran Ivanisevic’s nine victories.
The 53-year-old won two of their three Grand Slam encounters, while Becker claimed all three of the finals they contested against each other.
Ivanisevic claimed the pair’s last three meetings, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit in his head-to-head rivalry against Becker.
