Boris Becker makes prediction about how Novak Djokovic is going to play at the Olympics in Paris

Boris Becker shared his thoughts on how he thinks Novak Djokovic will perform at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The 37-year-old is aiming to win the coveted gold medal for the first time in his illustrious career.

The Serbian has come close on multiple occasions but it is the one prize that has continued to elude him and the 2024 Paris Games may serve as his final chance to become Olympic champion.

While he may not be considered the favourite for the crown by many, Becker, who claimed a gold medal in doubles at the 1992 Olympic Games, thinks Djokovic will be a major threat in the French capital.

What does Boris Becker expect to see from Novak Djokovic at the Paris Olympics?

Becker has been closely watching the progress of Djokovic in 2024 as he fights to return to the form he showed in 2023 where he won three Grand Slam titles.

At the Olympics the World number two will return to the Roland Garros, where the tennis event will be played.

It is the same venue where the French Open is held, a tournament Djokovic withdrew from after tearing the meniscus in his right knee back in June.

Despite the difficult season he has endured, Becker expects to see the best of Djokovic in Paris as he bids to fulfil his dream of becoming Olympic champion.

“He won’t like that he is losing so much, he will find it frustrating,” Becker shared. “There were reasons why he lost in Melbourne against Jannik Sinner, then he was injured in Paris and was well beaten by an unbelievable player in Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon.

“Early on in the season, he said the Olympics was his main goal and that is one of the reasons why I expect to see a very good Djokovic in Paris.”

Did Boris Becker coach Novak Djokovic?

In December 2013 it was announced that Becker would become Djokovic’s coach and the pair had a very successful three-year partnership.

At that time Djokovic had finished the year as the World number two behind Rafael Nadal, who claimed two Grand Slams during that season.

With Becker at the helm Djokovic claimed six majors and 14 Masters 1000 titles and also regained the World number one ranking.

One of the majors Djokovic won was the 2016 French Open. He defeated Andy Murray in the final to claim the title for the first time and complete the set of winning all four Grand Slam championships.
