Boris Becker named the player he thinks will win the Olympic gold medal in Paris.
The tennis tournament in the French capital is well underway and the players are doing all they can to fight their way into medal contention.
This is one of the most coveted titles on the tour, with an opportunity to become Olympic champion coming up just once every four years.
There is one player that this honour has eluded throughout his career and Paris 2024 may serve as his final chance to claim it, and it is someone Becker knows very well.
Who does Boris Becker think will win gold at the Paris Olympic Games?
Sometimes the Olympic Games produces surprise winners, but there is nothing shocking about who Becker thinks will claim the gold medal.
During a conversation with Eurosport, the six-time Grand Slam champion mentioned Carlos Alcaraz as a threat, but believes Novak Djokovic will finally claim the Olympic gold medal he so desperately craves.
“Before the tournament started, I put Novak Djokovic as the favourite. Now Jannik Sinner has defaulted, but Carlos Alcaraz is still very much in the draw,” Becker said.
“I think Novak has a good chance to at least medal. I would say Djokovic is the clear favourite. He’s won every other title. That was a big win for him [against Nadal], so he must feel good about his chances. But then you still have Alcaraz.
“Novak is exceptional. He’s incredibly fit at 37, and he takes great care of himself. His diet and lifestyle are entirely focused on tennis, which is why he’s still in such good form. But he is 37, so we have to keep that in mind.”

Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal in 60th meeting to keep Olympic dream alive
Djokovic defeating his great rival Rafael Nadal in straight sets to continue his campaign at the Paris Olympic Games.
In what could be their final matchup, the Serbian controlled the first set and lost just one game, and he looked set to do the same in the second.
Nadal rallied from 4-0 down to level the set at 4-4, but was unable to sustain his momentum and Djokovic broke back and successfully served out the match to win 6-1, 6-4.
Djokovic then went on to defeat Germany’s Dominik Koepfer in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals at the Olympic games for the fourth time in his career.
