Felix Auger-Aliassime has been told to close out matches as early as possible by tennis legend Boris Becker after his latest Wimbledon clash.
Auger-Aliassime just played out a four-hour, 26-minute epic with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, which he won in five sets.
The Canadian, who is currently ranked fourth on the ATP Tour, now meets 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
And Becker has sent a message to Auger-Aliassime ahead of that match, issuing somewhat obvious but important advice nonetheless.

Boris Becker offers Felix Auger-Aliassime advice at Wimbledon
Sharing his reaction to the 6-7(4-7), 7-6(8-6), 6-3, 6-7(2-7), 6-1 thriller on Court 1, Becker wrote on X: “Congratulations to FAA!
“Should have been in 4 sets but got the job done!
“Hopefully these extra games doesn’t cost him later… given the opportunity, he needs to close out matches whenever he can since he is an incredible talent!”
The assessment comes after Auger-Aliassime had near misses such as two match points in the fourth set, which he failed to convert.
He finally secured the victory with an ace on his seventh match point, but the very lengthy encounter could have a major impact on his meeting with Djokovic.

Felix Auger-Aliassime plays the best point of his career at Wimbledon
It was a highly dramatic match at the All England Club, with Auger-Aliassime angered by Davidovich Fokina for taking a medical timeout during a crucial service game in the fourth set.
The pair had a feisty exchange after the match, which also involved one of the greatest points in tennis history.
Despite losing an epic back-and-forth battle in the fourth set, Auger-Aliassime said: “It was insane. Best point I’ve ever played, just because that live reaction from the crowd.
“Now I can talk about it. When you have the full roar of the crowd, the full crowd up on their feet while the point is playing on, it shook me, like, middle of the point.
“I’m running to the ball. I was kind of like, yes, smiling to myself. I was, like, thinking I have to make it, but I missed. It’s still funny.
“Obviously the situation of the match, it wasn’t, let’s say, the most important point, so to speak. But, yeah, it was the best point I’ve been a part of for sure in my career.”
Both players were left in complete disbelief after Davidovich Fokina’s diving winner, with the Wimbledon crowd collectively rising to their feet in congratulations to both players.
More fireworks could be on display when Auger-Aliassime meets Djokovic, who is into the quarterfinals after beating qualifier Roman Safiullin.
