Nick Kyrgios appeared to suffer an injury while training for the Indian Wells Masters.
The Australian has not played since the Australian Open but he is in the draw for the first ATP Masters 1000 event of the year.
The 29-year-old has been blighted by injuries over the past several years and January’s Brisbane International was his first tournament since 2023.
But while preparing to make his first Indian Wells appearance since 2022, Kyrgios may have suffered a setback, which was noticed by a six-time Grand Slam champion.
Boris Becker reacts to Nick Kyrgios suffering an injury while training for Indian Wells
Nick Kyrgios is due to play his opening match at Indian Wells against the dangerous Botic van de Zandschulp, who came through the qualifying rounds.
But that may be in doubt after footage emerged on social media platform X of the player seemingly in pain as he held his wrist during a practice session.
Boris Becker, who recently engaged in a heated exchange with Kyrgios online, reacted to the video and posted the four-word statement “Doesn’t look so good.”
Kyrgios underwent wrist surgery in late 2023 after tearing ligaments, and it has been a long road back for the 2022 Wimbledon runner-up.
It remains to be seen if the former World number 13 will pull out of Indian Wells or if he is able to fight through the pain and take to the court for his first round match on Thursday.

What is Nick Kyrgios’ Indian Wells Masters record?
Kyrgios has competed at Indian Wells on five previous occasions, with his most recent appearance coming in 2022.
He has won seven of his 11 matches, and he reached the quarter-finals on two occasions.
Kyrgios was due to face Roger Federer in the 2017 quarter-finals but he was unable to compete and the Swiss Maestro went on to win the title.
In 2022, Kyrgios reached the last eight and played Rafael Nadal, and the Spaniard secured a 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 victory, which was his 19th successive victory to start that season.
