Ben Shelton has found his feet just before Wimbledon, claiming his first title on grass at the Boss Open in Stuttgart.

Shelton was the top seed at the ATP 250 event in Germany, which he will have used as preparation for the upcoming Grand Slam.

And the week could not have gone much better for the American, who beat his compatriot Taylor Fritz 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the Stuttgart final.

Shelton has since taken to social media to celebrate the success, where he has suggested that he could play mixed doubles at Wimbledon with an American WTA player.

Ben Shelton suggests Wimbledon mixed doubles with McCartney Kessler

Shelton posted the number six hashtag on his Instagram alongside a trophy emoji, referencing his sixth ATP title.

And several players have commented on the post, including WTA player McCartney Kessler.

She wrote: “It was always mixed doubles for training.”

And Shelton replied with the question: “Run it back in London?”

Kessler then responded with the eyes emoji, with their interaction suggesting that they could indeed link up on the court at Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, their compatriot Iva Jovic also commented under the post with the words: “Let’s go,” while Canadian ace Victoria Mboko posted the goat emoji.

What is McCartney Kessler’s WTA record?

Kessler is currently ranked 44th on the WTA Tour after her singles and doubles outings at Queen’s, with her focus now switching to Nottingham.

She boasts three WTA singles titles and has climbed as high as 30 in the rankings, with those figures standing at one and 47 respectively in her doubles career.
