Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz continued their dominance at Grand Slam level this season, combining to claim each of the four titles.
Sinner won the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2025, with Alcaraz winning the French Open and the US Open, while they met in three of the four finals.
The title figures represent a carbon copy of the 2024 ATP season, where the Italian and Spaniard combined to claim all four titles.
Whether or not they maintain those stunning efforts in 2026 remains to be seen, with the Australian Open representing the first opportunity to do so.

Ben Shelton confident of American men’s Grand Slam champion soon
Ahead of the Grand Slam, American star Ben Shelton has shared his take on the potential of an American man claiming a title at that level.
As quoted by Front Office Sports, he said: “I think that we’re on the right track. I think that having the density of guys at the top is important. And then it’s inevitable. It’s just going to happen. And we’re slowly getting there.
“You know, it’s a question that we get asked in media pretty much every single week – at least every single month – and I can’t tell you when it’s going to happen, I just know that we’re on the right track.
Should Ben Shelton hire a new coach for the 2026 season?
“We have two guys in the top 10 right now, which hadn’t been the case for a while, and so many young guys coming up that could make the same type of push.
“So I think just having a number of guys at the top who are confident and ready for their moment to come and to make that push to win a Slam – I think it’s going to happen.”
The highest-ranked American men ahead of the Australian Open
It has been both a painful and hugely disappointing drought for American men when it comes to winning Grand Slams.
Remarkably, Andy Roddick represents the last such player to achieve that feat, having won the US Open all the way back in 2003.
It was a fine era for the nation, with Andre Agassi lifting the Australian Open title earlier that year, just after Pete Sampras won the US Open.
Which American man and woman do you think will go furthest at the Australian Open?
Now, the burden very much falls on the shoulders of Shelton and his compatriot Taylor Fritz, the only two players within the top 10 of the ATP rankings.
The latter is sixth and the former is ninth, with Tommy Paul and Learner Tien next in line in 20th and 28th respectively.
Exciting 20-year-old Tien is followed by Frances Tiafoe in 30th, while Brandon Nakashima follows closely behind in 33rd.
