Chris Eubanks has confirmed his retirement from tennis, having enjoyed a fantastic career on the court.

Eubanks leaves the ATP Tour ranked in 266th place, with the American ace having once climbed to 29th in the world.

The American claimed his only title back in 2023, when he defeated Adrian Mannarino in the final of the Mallorca Open.

Eubanks has already ventured into TV work, although it remains to be seen exactly what his career will look like now that he’s called time on playing.

For now, the 29-year-old is hugely grateful for the reaction he’s received following his decision to hang up his racket.

He wrote on X: “Thank you to everyone for all of the kind messages! The outpouring of support has been unreal. I’m super excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to get it started!”

Should Ben Shelton hire a new coach for the 2026 season?

Meanwhile on his Instagram there has been plenty of reaction, with Eubanks sharing many messages from his fellow players.

Ben Shelton wrote on his Instagram story: “Happy to share a million memories with you on your journey. Excited for your next chapter.”

And their fellow American Jessica Pegula wrote on her Instagram story: “Happy retirement, all the best in the next chapter.”

Eubanks won the only final he reached on the ATP Tour with his fine run in Mallorca, where he knocked out fellow Americans Shelton and Alex Michelsen.

That year did indeed represent his best season, as he also reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals, his best-ever Grand Slam finish.

Elsewhere throughout his career, the American made it to the second rounds of the Australian Open and US Open, but never beyond the first round of the French Open.
