Look ahead to semi-final day for the 2024 ATP Finals with The Tennis Gazette, diving into the order of play and how to watch live as Alexander Zverev takes on Taylor Fritz.

Turin has seen some top-tier tennis over the past week but the 2024 ATP Finals is drawing to a close. Italy’s World No1 Jannik Sinner was the force to be reckoned with in the Ilie Nastase Group, as he went unbeaten through ties against Alex de Minaur, Fritz and Daniil Medvedev.

Over in the John Newcombe Group, it was Zverev who emerged as the force to be reckoned with. Germany’s World No2 sealed his spot in the semi-finals with wins over Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud and Carlos Alcaraz. Only Sinner and Zverev remain undefeated in Turin thus far.

Storming through the group stage with 3-0 records even means Sinner and Zverev remain in contention to win the maximum prize purse on offer at the ATP Finals in 2024 of $4,881,500. Fritz and Ruud cannot earn the same amount after losing matches, with $2,237,200 on offer.

Fritz and Ruud advanced to the semi-finals at the 2024 ATP Finals after losing to the winner in their respective groups. Sinner beat Fritz 6-4, 6-4 on day three, while Zverev recorded a 7-6, 6-3 win over Ruud on day four. Now, the groups mix and a date with Ruud awaits Sinner.

Day seven at the 2024 ATP Finals is semi-final day with spots in the singles and also doubles finals up for grabs. The doubles fixtures also kick off the afternoon and evening sessions on day seven, before attentions turn to the singles semis to decide those in Sunday’s final clash.

Alexander Zverev vs Taylor Fritz head-to-head record

Fritz booked his place in the 2024 ATP Finals semi-final with a 2-1 record in the Ilie Nastase Group. Now, the USA’s World No5 takes on John Newcombe Group winner Zverev in Fritz’s 12th career meeting with the German. But Fritz to date boasts a 6-5 record against Zverev.

Zverev has also failed to beat Fritz in their three most recent encounters ahead of the 2024 ATP Finals. The Hamburg native has also lost to the Californian in both of their two previous occasions on indoor hard courts like what is in use for the ATP Finals in Turin this November.

Jannik Sinner vs Casper Ruud head-to-head record

Sinner stormed through the Ilie Nastase Group holding a 3-0 record, having even won all six of his sets played and 36 of his 58 games played. Now, the Italian will strive to do away with Ruud and continue Sinner’s perfect head-to-head record in the semi-finals of the ATP Finals.

The pair have only met twice before their date at the 2024 ATP Finals and have not shared a court since 2021. Ruud will hope time is a healer for the Norwegian to now change his head-to-head record against Sinner and sweep into the final, as both bid for a first ATP Finals title.
