The Canadian Open is an ATP Masters 1000 event, bringing the world’s best men’s tennis players to the outdoor hard courts of Sobeys Stadium in Toronto.
Last year, the unseeded Alexei Popyrin stunned the field to claim the title.
Unfortunately, several high-profile players have withdrawn from this year’s tournament. Jannik Sinner, who won the title when the event was last held in Toronto in 2023, has withdrawn due to an elbow injury. Four-time champion Novak Djokovic has also pulled out, citing a groin injury.
Additionally, Carlos Alcaraz announced his withdrawal, stating he needs more rest after his recent Wimbledon final appearance and is dealing with small muscle issues. Jack Draper has also withdrawn due to an arm injury.
Despite these withdrawals, the tournament still promises an exciting line-up. Among those expected in action this year will be Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Daniil Medvedev, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe, and Andrey Rublev.
