Aryna Sabalenka has emerged victorious at the Brisbane International yet again, beating Marta Kostyuk in the final.

Sabalenka congratulated Kostyuk after their final at the Brisbane International, in which the former defeated the latter 6-4, 6-3.

The Belarusian also clinched the title in Brisbane in 2025, coming from behind to beat Polina Kudermetova in the final.

Defeating Kostyuk in one hour and 18 minutes at Pat Rafter Arena, Sabalenka now boasts 22 career titles on the WTA Tour.

With her latest title, the world number one has surpassed Victoria Azarenka for the outright third-most among currently active players at WTA level.

She is now behind only Venus Williams and Iga Swiatek in the list, with the American on 49 and the Pole on 25, as per OptaAce.

OptaAce also noted that Sabalenka has claimed a 75th match win as the world number one, becoming the ninth player to achieve that feat since 1990.

Marta Kostyuk beats Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula in dream run

Sabalenka deserves huge credit for another stunning success, which should send a real warning to the rest of the players on the WTA Tour.

She clearly enjoys playing in Australia, having also won two of her four Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open.

But she was also right to praise Kostyuk, who enjoyed a fantastic run in Brisbane before falling short at the very last.

The Ukrainian’s only WTA title arrived in Austin in 2023, while she lost finals in San Diego and Stuttgart in 2024.

But her confidence will have just received a huge boost, with Kostyuk having knocked out three top 10 players in Brisbane.

Before her final with Sabalenka, the world number 26 defeated Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva.

The run has arrived at the perfect time, with the 23-year-old certain to be a player others will want to avoid at the Australian Open.
