Aryna Sabalenka continues to impress at Wimbledon as she looks to win her maiden title in 2025.
The Belarusian beat Carson Branstine and Marie Bouzkova to advance to the third round at Wimbledon, where she met home favorite Emma Raducanu.
Playing some of the best tennis of her life, Raducanu pushed Sabalenka close on Centre Court, narrowly falling to defeat 6-7 [6-8], 4-6.

After the match, Sabalenka thanked the crowd for their support, admitting she tried to convince herself that they were cheering for her.
Going into further detail, Sabalenka compared the crowds at Wimbledon to those at the US Open during her post-match press conference.
Aryna Sabalenka says the US Open crowds are ‘super crazy’ and thanks ‘respectful’ British fans
Speaking to the media, Sabalenka gave her verdict on the crowds at Wimbledon and the US Open.
“The crowd. I mean, I played enough in the [United] States against Americans, and there it’s like super crazy,” she said.
“Honestly, I’m super grateful that people were respectful and really polite during the points, and even though they were cheering for her between the points, during the point, I was able to focus, and they were really polite once again.
“So I think that really helped me to stay in the game and to be there, to fight for every point, and I’m super happy that I was able to be that focused.”

Sabalenka needed to stay focused as she fought off Raducanu, who was inspired by the fans on Centre Court.
Taking the time to praise Raducanu, Sabalenka assessed her performance in their third-round match.
“She played an incredible level,” said Sabalenka.
There was little to separate the pair on Friday evening, as the Belarusian picked up the victory, having won just seven more points than her British opponent.

Sabalenka will now turn her attention to the fourth round and a clash with Elise Mertens, her former doubles partner.

Sabalenka may have experienced some ‘crazy’ atmospheres over the years, but she rarely lets them get the better of her.
On just two occasions has Sabalenka lost to a player competing at their home Grand Slam, to Ash Barty at the 2018 Australian Open and to Coco Gauff in the 2023 US Open final.
Only time will tell if Sabalenka can keep up her impressive record, but it will certainly be worth looking out for when the 2025 US Open begins on Sunday, August 24.
