The 2024 WTA season has just come to an end and Aryna Sabalenka is already looking ahead to the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.
The Belarusian enjoyed the best season of her career which yielded two Grand Slam titles and the year-end number one ranking.
She overtook Iga Swiatek in the rankings after winning the Wuhan Open and she is aiming to stay at the summit of women’s tennis for a long time to come.
As great this season was for Sabalenka, she has one goal in mind for 2025, to play at the Wimbledon Championships and go for the title.

Since the start of the 2023 season, Aryna Sabalenka has been the WTA Tour’s most consistent player at the Grand Slams. The 26-year-old made the semi-finals or better in each of the majors last year, and won two of them in 2024.
The one event she did not have a chance of winning in 2024 was Wimbledon, as a shoulder injury prevented Sabalenka gracing the hallowed turf at SW19.
Following her success elsewhere in 2024 and the improvement in her variety of shots, Sabalenka fancies her chances of glory at the All-England Club in 2025.
“I was quite frustrated I had to pull out because I felt I now probably am ready to get really far in this tournament. I have all of those tools,” she told Andy Roddick’s ‘Served’ podcast.
“I have a slice game, drop shot, I have a serve, quite strong ground strokes. I felt so good going into Wimbledon, especially after the Roland Garros experience where I didn’t win a match, I felt so bad in the stomach and was so hungry to play in the Grand Slam.
“I was so frustrated. I am really excited for next year and I hope I am going to be ready 100% to play. I definitely feel like I have got more confidence going into Wimbledon.”
What is Aryna Sabalenka’s Wimbledon record?
Sabalenka has entered the Wimbledon Championships on five occasions.
She reached the second round on debut in 2017, and failed to win a match in 2018 and 2019. Wimbledon did not take place in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
When the event returned in 2021, Sabalenka achieved her best result by reaching the semi-finals, and equalled this result in 2023.
Therefore, Sabalenka has recorded 11 victories at Wimbledon during her career, and suffered five defeats.
After missing the 2022 and 2024 events, the three-time Grand Slam winner will look to add her first grass court major to her tally next summer.
