Andy Roddick was delighted with something Novak Djokovic said after claiming the Olympic title.
The Serbian brought some success to his country after winning the coveted gold medal for the first time.
This is something the 37-year-old wanted to win for his entire career and during what might have been his final opportunity, Djokovic rose to the occasion and defeated Carlos Alcaraz to claim the crown.
Djokovic is celebrating his latest career achievement ahead of trying to win a 25th Grand Slam at the US Open later this month.

Novak Djokovic is a very driven individual and this same work ethic and determination has now won him every major title in tennis.
An example of his desire and will to win was exemplified after he won a near six-hour Australian Open final against Rafael Nadal in 2012, when he allowed himself just one bite of chocolate, because he wanted to achieve so much more.
When asked if he is now content after becoming Olympic Champion, Djokovic said “I think so,” which Roddick was delighted to hear him say.
“I have run out of superlatives,” the American said on his ‘Served’ Podcast. “I am glad that he has said this because he has been a maniac in the most professional way where he had a bite of chocolate after he won Australia one year.
“They asked him afterwards is this enough and he said I think so. It was the first time I heard him say it. Good for him. I hope he feels full and whole. It was stunning.”

Roddick and Djokovic played one another nine times throughout their careers and one of those meetings came at the Olympics.
The pair faced one another for the final time at the London Games in 2012, which came during the final season of Roddick’s career.
Djokovic lost just three games in their third round encounter and went on to reach the semi-finals where he took on Andy Murray.
The Brit claimed that encounter 7-5, 7-5 and he later defeated Roger Federer to win the first of his two Olympic gold medals.
