“I think Wimbledon is the coolest venue in all of sports,” said Roddick. “It’s our cathedral, as far as just an event based around the most elite tennis and the hardest sport.
“But the improvements with the US Open, and I’m not someone who gives out credit just because someone says hello in a nice way, the food offerings at the US Open used to be pretty crappy 20 years ago.
“It is unbelievable now how thoughtful you [Eric Butorac] and the USTA at large have been with putting together ‘Fan Week’, something for everyone.”
