Carlos Alcaraz has left Andy Roddick astounded by what he has done after winning the Australian Open.
Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic to win the Australian Open for the first time in his career.
This enabled Alcaraz to complete the Career Grand Slam at just 22 years old, the youngest man in history to achieve this feat.
As Alcaraz continues to make history, former world number one Roddick has explained what he finds ‘absurd’ about the Spaniard’s success.

Andy Roddick reacts to Carlos Alcaraz winning the Australian Open
Not only has Alcaraz now won every single Grand Slam tournament, but he also has a total of seven majors to his name.
Former US Open champion Roddick did not actually predict Alcaraz to win the Australian Open, and he has explained just how ‘absurd’ he thinks it is that the Spaniard has already put himself alongside some of the greats at just 22 years old.
“I went to London a couple of years ago and had to do a charity hit. I was on one of the courts at Queen’s Club, doing a little hit and giggle,” Roddick said on his ‘Served with Andy Roddick‘ podcast.
“Then who walks out on the court next to me? I froze because I could not even breathe. It was Stefan Edberg. I say that because I am a player. I played in Slams. I know a lot of people and it’s a tennis thing.
“He has this impact on me, however many years later. He had six Grand Slams. [Boris] Becker had six Grand Slams. Jonny McEnroe has seven. One of the all time voices, one of the most famous people in tennis history. He [Alcaraz] has now equalled at 22 years old.
“Someone who never gets talked about enough is Mats Wilander, who he has now tied at seven. These are monsters! He has caught them at 22 years old.
“Now he goes into the French Open, having won it the last two years, and he is looking at Jimmy Connors, who played until he was 40, Andre Agassi and Lendl.
“I never want it to be really casual what the accomplishments of these people are, even if it seems like we are spoiled for choice. I never want to get to that place.
“The people that are absolute monsters in my mind, that I can’t shake from childhood, he has just casually walked into the conversation at 22. It is absurd.”
