Tommy Paul will take part in the Queen’s final later today after overcoming Seb Korda yesterday in the last four.

It’s a welcome return to form for the American player who ended Great Britain’s hopes by beating Jack Draper earlier this week

Paul is the fifth seed at Queen’s and his form this week should give him confidence going into Wimbledon.

The world number 13 is riding the crest of a wave at the moment and he clearly likes playing on the grass.

Paul faces Lorenzo Musetti in today’s final and he will be hoping to win a third career title.

Now, Andy Roddick has found some time to heap praise on Paul ahead of today’s final at Queen’s.

What Andy Roddick has said about Tommy Paul

American tennis has been in the gutter for a little while – but things could be on the up.

Not since Roddick won the US Open in 2003 have America been able to celebrate a Grand Slam winner in the men’s game and that has to change.

Ahead of today’s Wimbledon final, Roddick has praised Paul for his form of late on the grass.

He told the Tennis Channel: “I think it’s well deserved from Tommy Paul. I don’t think he’s ever been the first name off the lips when we are talking about who is going to be the guy, who is going to get to the final.

“Frankly we have overlooked Tommy Paul and he’s worked himself into this position. He is not one of the guys who has transitioned from winning Roland Garros juniors and then it happened instantly.

“He had to learn some things and be a bit more professional. I think Brad Stein has done a phenomenal job, he deserves a lot of credit.

“You like to see this happen for Tommy Paul because of the process and he turned his career around four of five years around very intentionally.”

Paul can be a dangerous proposition for the top players at Wimbledon

Clearly the 27-year-old enjoys the grass court season and he will hope to win the tournament this afternoon.

However, Wimbledon will be in his sights now as the third Grand Slam of the year comes around next month.

Paul will be a dangerous proposition for any player in the main draw and nobody will fancy facing the American in the opening round.

Playing on grass proves tricky for a number of players but Paul seems to enjoy and embrace the challenge.

Now, he will hope to cause problems at Wimbledon as he aims to improve on a career-best fourth round at SW19.

Paul hasn’t found his best form at many of the Grand Slams and now there looks to be real hope that he can kick on and start reaching business ends more frequently.
