Andy Roddick has been discussing a scary prospect at Roland Garros involving Rafael Nadal that nobody has been talking about.
The Spanish superstar has announced in the past week that he’s entering the Barcelona Open as he aims to rebuild his fitness.
Nadal was forced out of the Australian Open back in January and he will be desperate to avoid injury robbing him of a swansong Roland Garros appearance.
The Spaniard has claimed success at the French Open on 14 occasions and it’s fair to say that he’s a complete master on the clay.
In recent years, Nadal has been in the spotlight for his fitness and hopefully, he can enter the Barcelona Open in good health and perform well.

Andy Roddick reveals scary draw Rafael Nadal could get at Roland Garros
Well, Roddick has now expressed a concept ahead of the French Open that would be quite simply mouthwatering were it to happen.
Nadal has a few events to build up his fitness before he has to think about the French Open but that will be on his mind.
The 36-year-old is a hero when it comes to Roland Garros and no player in history has dominated that tournament like he has.
Roddick has noted that Nadal would be unseeded going into the tournament and he believes that’s a scary prospect for the seeds.
He said on the Served with Andy Roddick podcast: “Rafa is going to play in Barcelona. We will all be watching that very closely and I’m just happy and relieved.
“I will be watching and hoping that at any point nothing goes wrong. We cannot risk any injury from here and it could be the last one.
“If he gets a clean bill of health going into Roland Garros, he’s certainly one of the favourites and also something that’s not talked about enough right now, he goes in unseeded.
“We could potentially have Rafa Nadal versus Novak Djokovic in the first round. I can tell you if I was one of the top seeds who I would not want to play in the first round if he was just floating around as a guy who has won it 14 times.”
Nadal vs Djokovic – Head-to-head
This would be a frankly ridiculous first-round match and it would represent a seriously tough match for Djokovic to contend with.
The two legends of the game have faced each other on 59 occasions during their career and Djokovic leads 30-29.
At the French Open, however, it has been one-way traffic, with Nadal winning 14 compared to just three victories for Djokovic.
Interestingly, Djokovic is the only player to have actually beaten Nadal at all four majors and perhaps that will be on his mind should this situation arise.
We firmly believe that Roddick has a strong point when he says that no seeded player will be happy to draw Nadal in the first round of this tournament.
The player has enjoyed an unbelievable career on clay and it would be intriguing to see which seed would draw the short straw.
