Andy Roddick shared his brutally honest opinion of Nick Kyrgios and his behaviour towards Jannik Sinner.
The Australian and the World number one have not been on the best of terms since the news of the latter’s two failed drug tests.
Jannik Sinner was found to have traces of the steroid clostebol in his system during the Indian Wells Masters in March 2024.
Since the news broke after Sinner won the Cincinnati title in August, Nick Kyrgios has made his feelings known about it on numerous occasions, and Andy Roddick is not happy about it.
What did Andy Roddick say about Nick Kyrgios’ behaviour towards Jannik Sinner?
Kyrgios has developed a reputation for being very outspoken and unfiltered.
He has taken to social media on multiple occasions to express his views on matters within tennis, and he has been particularly vocal about Sinner’s failed drug tests.
Sinner was allowed to continue playing while the investigation was conducted, the ITIA later cleared of intentionally taking the banned substance.
But Kyrgios believes Sinner should have been suspended and has made some strong comments about this on multiple occasions online.
In fact, he took things a step further by expressing his displeasure with teenager Cruz Hewitt, who posted a photo with Sinner after practicing with him ahead of the Australian Open.
On the latest episode of his ‘Served podcast’, Roddick did not hold back on his assessment of Kyrgios’ behaviour towards Sinner and comments towards Hewitt.

“I have decided to lay off because there is this weird thing where he wants the likes. At this point he is a tennis influencer. He lives for likes, he lives in the comments section.
“But what I have an issue with is the hypocrisy with which he picks and chooses when to levy judgement on others while also wanting you to digest the context of his comments – the latest being towards Cruz Hewitt who practiced with Jannik Sinner.
“Kyrgios has been the single most outspoken critic of Jannik Sinner on the heels of his failed doping test. So Cruz Hewitt is 16 years old, son of Lleyton and the toughest competitor that I have ever played in my life, gets to hit with a guy who is number one in the world at the Australian Open. That is a big deal.
“Imagine as an almost 30 year old man, going into the comments of a 16 year old who is the best player in the world. If you think he is guilty or not guilty, it’s still a moment when you get to do that.
“That’s a big moment and to simply post a picture and then have this guy go into the comments and make it all about himself. ‘I thought we were bros’.
“The defence was all made that it was a joke. The lack of awareness you have with bringing trolls and all of the worst of tennis fandom into a 16 year old’s comments is ridiculous. It’s ridiculous.”

Nick Kyrgios takes aim at Iga Swiatek following her positive drug test
Just three months after Sinner’s failed drug tests became public, the WTA’s Iga Swiatek was found to have banned the substance trimetazidine in her system.
As a result she was given a one-month suspension that lasted from September 12 to October 4, though she successfully appealed the verdict.
This forced Swiatek to miss three tournaments across the Asian swing. During an interview with the Tennis Insider Club podcast on Monday, Swiatek spoke about the distress she felt over her positive drug test.
“I had no idea what happened,” Swiatek said. “At the beginning, I didn’t have a source right on. We had to send supplements to the tabs and wait for the results.
“It was so chaotic, I didn’t know if it was going to be, two years, three months or something else. It was really tough. I don’t want to go through this again.”
These quotes were posted on X, which prompted Kyrgios to take a shot at Swiatek. “The old I’m the victim card,” he wrote. “This tennis world really controls the narrative – it’s a bad joke.”
